Eivind Austad Trio ia a modern jazztrio based upon originally composed material. The songs are loosely based upon the american jazz tradition as well as european classical music and folk music and consists of strong melodies with harmonic and rhythmic complexity. Among the influences are Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea and Brad Mehldau. Eivind Austad Trio is characterized by strong instrumentalists, a dynamic interplay and a wide range in their musical expression. The Trio has just finished the recording of their first album in legendary Rainbow Studios in Oslo with legendary sound engineer Jan Erik Kongshaug, which is will be released in march 2016 on the german label Ozella.
